- the UNI mobile application (the "UNI App"),
- the PopWatch by UNI mobile application ("PopWatch"),
- our websites and related services (collectively, the "Services").
This policy applies to information we process as a controller (or similar role under applicable laws).
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
Depending on how you use the Services, you may provide:
- Account information (name, username, email, phone number, profile photo)
- Authentication information (e.g., sign-in with Apple or other sign-in providers; we receive identifiers and verification data, not your password)
- Social DNA preferences (your selected interests, franchises, genres, hobbies, cuisines, venues, and other preference inputs)
- Saved items, plans, and in-app actions (e.g., likes, bookmarks, follows, reminders)
- Communications (messages to support; feedback; survey responses)
2.2 Information collected automatically
We may collect:
- Device information (device type, operating system, app version, language)
- Log and usage data (features used, pages/screens viewed, clicks, timestamps, crash reports)
- Approximate location (if you enable location permissions; we may infer approximate location from IP address for basic functionality)
- Advertising identifiers (where permitted by law) and related analytics identifiers
2.3 Information from third parties
We may receive information from:
- Authentication providers (e.g., Apple)
- App stores and payment processors (purchase confirmations and subscription status)
- Third-party content/data providers and partners (e.g., media metadata, event listings, venues, points of interest)
- Advertising and analytics partners (measurement and attribution signals, subject to settings and law)
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services
- Personalize recommendations and experiences (including via Social DNA)
- Connect experiences across PopWatch and UNI (e.g., preference transfer, cross-app routing, shared rewards where available)
- Provide in-app browsing and deep links to third-party services
- Improve and develop new features (analytics, debugging, product research)
- Communicate with you (service messages, security alerts, support)
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
4. How we share information
We may share information in the following circumstances:
4.1 With service providers
We share information with vendors that help us operate the Services (hosting, analytics, customer support, security, communications, and performance monitoring).
4.2 With third-party links and in-app browser destinations
When you click a third-party link (including via an in-app browser), the third party may collect information about you directly. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.
4.3 With partners for attribution and measurement
We may share limited information (such as device identifiers, event timestamps, and campaign parameters) with analytics and advertising partners to measure performance, prevent fraud, and understand outcomes, subject to your device settings and applicable law.
4.4 With affiliates
We may share information within UNI Networks' corporate family to provide and improve the Services.
4.5 For legal, safety, and business reasons
We may share information to:
- comply with law, legal process, or governmental requests,
- protect the rights, safety, and security of UNI, users, and others,
- enforce our Terms,
- support a business transaction (e.g., merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets).
5. Social DNA and profiling
Social DNA is a preference framework used to personalize content and recommendations across the Services. This may involve automated processing to predict what you may want to watch or do.
You can typically edit your preferences in-app. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights regarding profiling and automated decision-making.
6. Advertising
We may show ads and sponsored content in the Services. Where permitted:
- we and our partners may use advertising identifiers and similar technologies for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention.
You can often limit ad tracking through device settings (e.g., iOS "Allow Apps to Request to Track"). If you opt out, you may still see ads, but they may be less relevant.
7. Data retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business purposes, including compliance, security, dispute resolution, and enforcement of agreements.
Retention periods vary based on the type of information and how it is used.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- access, correct, or delete certain personal information,
- object to or restrict processing,
- withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent),
- opt out of certain data uses (including targeted advertising, where applicable),
- receive a copy of your information (data portability).
You can also:
- edit Social DNA preferences in the app,
- manage location permissions in device settings,
- manage tracking permissions in device settings.
10. Children's privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
11. International transfers
If you use the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
